Tandoori Pomfret

Whole pomfret marinated in aromatic spices, clay-oven roasted to smoky perfection with flavors of the coast.

Ingredients

1 whole pomfret fish (about 500g)

2 cups yogurt

2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

1 tbsp red chili powder

1 tbsp turmeric powder

1 tbsp garam masala

1 tbsp coriander powder

1 tbsp cumin powder

2 tbsp mustard oil

Salt to taste

Lemon juice

Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions

Clean and gut the pomfret fish, make deep cuts on both sides

Mix yogurt with all the spices and ginger-garlic paste

Apply the marinade generously on the fish, inside and out

Let it marinate for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator

Preheat the tandoor or grill to high heat

Brush the fish with mustard oil

Grill for 8-10 minutes on each side until charred and cooked through

Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot
